ABOUT US
EOHMA is a contemporary architecture and design studio creating bespoke architecture and transformative interiors.
Our philosophy - Experiment. Optimise. Harmonise. Manufacture. Apply - reflects our belief that the best architecture combines exploration, precision, and care.
Based in Manchester, we are best known for our high-end residential work, helping homeowners extend, remodel, and transform their properties into spaces of timeless elegance. Our experience also spans commercial, hospitality, and international developments, giving our private clients the confidence of working with a team proven at every scale.
At EOHMA, we are collaborators. We listen, we challenge, and we bring clarity to every stage — from first sketch to final completion. The result is architecture that feels effortless to live, work and flourish in, yet is crafted with rigour, imagination, and enduring value.
OUR MISSION
“We create the living, working and leisure environments of tomorrow by reimagining the limitations of today”
OUR FOUNDER
Curtis Martyn
Founder and Director
Chartered Architect (RIBA, ARB)
Curtis founded EOHMA in 2017 to create a studio where design ambition is matched by technical excellence. Educated at the Manchester School of Architecture, where he graduated with First Class Honours and later a Distinction in Architecture + Urbanism, Curtis has combined practice, research, and teaching throughout his career.
Before establishing EOHMA, he worked with leading UK and international practices on a portfolio spanning luxury residences, landmark hotels, and international masterplans. His experience includes the refurbishments of the Palace Hotel in Manchester and the Royal York Hotel, community-focused housing masterplans across Manchester, and developer-led residential schemes. He also contributed to significant leisure and civic projects such as the national roll-out of PureGym, which gave him a keen understanding of the leisure sector and the demands of fast-paced, multi-site delivery, and the regeneration of Broadgate Circle in London. Other major projects include the HS2 Leeds Masterplan and Jaguar Land Rover’s Advanced Engine Facility. International commissions include the Qatar Ladies Sports Centre in Doha and the King Abdullah Sports City Athletics Stadium in Jeddah.
Curtis began his career at Arup Associates in London, where he was involved in flagship civic and infrastructure schemes including Broadgate Circle and early phases of High Speed Rail 2. He later expanded his expertise at 3D Reid and Michael Hyde & Associates, delivering residential developments, leisure destinations, and prestigious heritage refurbishments.
Recognised internationally for his work, Curtis was named winner of the THINK.SPACE International Competition, judged by Pedro Gadanho, Curator of Contemporary Architecture at MoMA, New York.
Alongside practice, he is a specialist tutor at the Manchester School of Architecture, with a research focus on human-centred sustainable architecture, the regeneration of post-industrial towns and cities, and the role of artificial intelligence in shaping future urban design - positioning him at the forefront of innovation in the built environment.
He has lectured internationally, published in collaboration with Arts Council England, and remains passionate about design innovation, property development, and the future of global cities.
